Evelyn by Grace Fearon

It is difficult to appreciate the beauty of this pattern from a picture.  It is rich & full of gorgeous texture!  After crocheting for 14 years, it can be difficult to find a challenging, exciting & rewarding pattern that you look forward to working round after round.  Grace's patterns are so well written & explained that they challenge & provide interest to the experienced crocheter, yet can be worked by a novice as well.
All parts contain a printer-friendly version which is what I worked from.  She also includes an a-long version that contains excellent pictures with a diagram overlay for each round, as well as, a stitch count.

CAL started 6/1/2017. This is the 8th doily I have made by this designer.  Doily is 41 Rounds.

YARN
Artiste in Poppy Red.
1.82 balls - 91 grams - 637yards
This is my first time using Artiste.  I have chosen to make this doily in Poppy Red for the 4th of July.  First skein of yarn weighs 57g. Total project weighs 91g. I'm guessing that 50g of Artiste is equal to 350 yards.  My yarn usage above reflects this.

HOOK
1.75mm

Part 1 Rounds 1-15
Using a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round may be very useful!!
Pre-blocking Measurement - 5" diameter
Weighs - 11 g (Approximately 63 yards)

Part 2 Rounds 16-23
Round 22 - Watch where you put the FP-DTR around the popcorn.  Because of the density & texture, it is very easy to place this stitch around the wrong part or not get the entire stitch around the entire popcorn.
Pre-blocking Measurement - 8" diameter
Weighs - 26 g (Approximately 156 yards)

Part 3 Rounds 24-30
Round 28 - I would correct the round to begin "slst over **to** & into the first space".  Adding the 'to' makes it more clear that you are not slip stitching over the top of the first space.
Round 29 - When working the FP-2DC-cluster.  There are 2 DC from Round 28.  Place the first DC in the first of the DC from Round 28.  Then work the FP-2DC-cluster around both of the DC's from Round 28.  The 2nd DC is worked into the second DC from Round 28.  The way it is written makes it seem like this 2nd DC is worked into the same one as the first DC.  There is also a video for this stitch found here
Pre-blocking Measurement - 10 1/2" diameter
Weighs - 46 g (Approximately 318 yards)

Part 4 Rounds 31-37
Ran out of my first ball of yarn on Round 33.  Weight of the first ball was 57g.
Pre-blocking Measurement - 14" diameter
Weighs - 75 g

Part 5 Rounds 38-41
Pre-blocking Measurement 15 3/4" diameter.
Weighs - 91g (Approximately 637 yards)

Measurements
Final pre-blocking Measurement 15 3/4" diameter.
Final Blocking Measurement 20" diameter.
